FOUND 02.27.2020 Case 1

Spring is almost here…

20190818_165158 (3)_LI.jpg

First day of spring will be March 19th this year. It seems like we have had a true winter season recently, with cold temperatures starting early in November. However mother nature has started to show signs of spring finally. And for Florida, that means spring breakers leaving lots of treasures for metal detectorists to find!

So FIRST case will be in Atlantic Beach this morning to celebrate the FIRST season of 2020. Remember sometimes it doesn’t matter which direction you go at the beach, the view is still beautiful.

The case will contain a special item and cash as usual, but don’t forget there are other items in this area of value as well.

This hunt just as the others will require a detector. Make sure you fill any holes you dig and many thanks for picking up any trash you find along the way as well. Take a photo of where you find the container and text it to the number found on this site.

Remember all hunts are open to the public.

Good luck and happy hunting!

Ah love is in the air…

With Valentine's Day around the corner, I thought it would be a good idea to have a location that “locks” a relationship.

We head to south today to visit this famous bridge in North Beach known for its numerous locks and beautiful views.

There is some special love to be found in the hunt today!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

We head to Jacksonville Beach today for 2 cases at the same location.

The 3rd planet from the Sun is about to take another lap around that bright morning star. Often this time of the year, sunrises are best seen south of the Pier. The colors are very vivid and can be quite beautiful during winter. The Seawind can be harsh during the winter months since cooler temperatures and rain have been more often than not as of late. But I’m sure most would agree, it’s better to make a Sandman than a Snowman in December!

The case will contain a special coin and $27.00 as usual, but don’t forget there are other items as usual in this area of value as well.

This hunt just as the others will require a detector. Make sure you fill any holes you dig and many thanks for picking up any trash you find along the way as well. Take a photo of where you find the container and text it to the number found on this site.

Items for case 2

FOUND (11.27.2019 - Clue 2 Location: Atlantic Beach)

Because the holidays are here, this time there are two cases placed in two different locations. This clue is for the case at Atlantic/Neptune Beach.

At the opposite end of the island, you’ll discover two towns that connect into a town center directly off Highway A1A. Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach seem to blend seamlessly in town center, as a gateway to the ocean. At the end of town center in Atlantic Beach, a hotel has always stood since the 1940s. First named Copper Kettle, then Sea Turtle Inn, the hotel is now called One Ocean Resort. The hotel provides chairs for it’s guests to enjoy relaxing on the beach and often you can find treasures they have left behind here.

The case will contain a special coin and $27.00 as usual, but don’t forget there are other items as usual in this area of value as well.

This hunt just as the others will require a detector. Make sure you fill any holes you dig and bonus points for picking up any trash you find along the way as well. Take a photo of where you find the container and text it to the number inside.

Remember all hunts are open to the public.

Good luck and happy hunting!

FOUND 11.27.2019 - Clue 1 Location: Vilano Beach

Because the holidays are here, this time there are two cases placed in two different locations. This clue is for the case at Vilano Beach.

Once the location of the Grand Vilano Casino, Vilano Beach is a beautiful small town just 2 miles outside of St. Augustine. Storms from 1937 thru 1939 washed the casino out to sea, however a public beach pavilion exists there today.

Vilano Beach allows seasonal 4x4 vehicle travel, so as you walk out onto the beach from the pavilion, there are several new signs posted for this lane. As you walk south along the outside of this new “road”, you’ll find treasures along your journey as you head south. There is another pathway that leads back to the parking lot, so travel that direction to make your way back.

First Christian Church of Neptune Beach has a beautiful view of the ocean, with a large oceanfront courtyard. The access to the beach is a ramp, so often in the mornings at sunrise you can find bicyclists passing thru to catch a glimpse at the morning star waking everyone up.

While searching this area, remember two things, some things that sound like a pull tab on a metal detector, are not always what they seem.

This hunt just as the others will require a detector and will be located in the dry sand. Make sure you fill any holes you dig and bonus points for picking up any trash you find along the way as well. Take a photo of where you find the container and text it to the number inside.

“Under the boardwalk….” always sings in my head when I’m visiting Jacksonville Beach Pier. I love detecting around this area, there’s always something to find.

Once called Ruby, then Pablo Beach, and as of 1925 Jacksonville Beach, this town has a long history of change. There once was a wooden boardwalk here, an amusement park, and cars would line up on the sand to compete in auto racing.

Construction continues in this area with a new ramp being built to allow wheelchair access. I look forward to the day when the pier is rebuilt from the hurricane damage from years past. But for now, visitors from across the globe come to our tiny part of the world to visit this area, some to see the Atlantic Ocean for the first time.

This hunt just as the others will require a detector and will be located in the sand. Make sure you fill any holes you dig and bonus points for picking up any trash you find along the way as well. Take a photo of where you find the container and text it to the number inside.

Good luck and happy hunting!

Not only can you hear sounds from the ocean while visiting the beach, but often music fills the air when festive events happen at the Seawalk Pavillion in Jacksonville Beach.

This particular Saturday there is at least two events at the beach. Void surf competition will start at 8 am followed by an artist market across from City Hall. Busy summertime Saturday fun!

With these kind of days where a crowd of people can be found, often there are treasures left behind for metal detectorists to discover. To find those kind of treasures, you have to think about how people normally lose things while at the beach.

This hunt will require a detector and will be located in the sand. Make sure you fill any holes you might dig, and bonus points for picking up any trash you find as well. Take a photo of where you find the container and text it to the number inside.

And if you happen to be in the area, I’ll be selling postcards of my photography at the market. Feel free to drop by the market and say hi

It's Turtle nests season! As we had to Mickler beach this morning, you can find several nest along the way. It is truly an amazing event to see the turtles come in to lay their eggs you can ever get the chance. However remember do not touch or go near them!

Head south and look for an empty lot with two nests near each other. Remember the case is not hidden anywhere near the nest..we certainly want to protect the babies!

Be sure to look for a few items along the way as well.

Good luck and happy hunting!

In Jacksonville Beach, our ‘Seascape‘ awaits us for our hidden case this morning.

Often at this location, many locals like to watch rocket launches from Cape Canaveral. If we look south, we can see a launch all the way here in Jacksonville Beach. It’s an incredible site to see, especially at night, if you haven’t experienced one yet.

Let us not forget that today we honor the men and women who have passed away while serving our country in the United States Armed Forces. American flags are often placed on graves and many services are held across the country to honor those who gave their lives. Many businesses and homes raise the American Flag to honor those as well. Thank you to those who sacrificed their lives for our country, and to those who have served and are serving in the Armed Forces.

Good luck to the hunters today. Remember to cover your hole once you find the prize. If you have questions please text us for help or clues!
