After such a long winter, it seems summertime is almost here. Tourists are showing up for spring break and warmer weather, and the traffic has picked up around the beaches.

This weekend is the annual opening of the beaches with lots of events to attend. The tradition has been around for years, this year being the 78th anniversary as an unofficial way to celebrate the season to come. Today the city has a cornhole event, sandcastle contest, skateboard event and more. The parade is on Sunday at 2pm and takes a route around North Jax beach area making one of its turns at 11th Ave North. To keep with that tradition of being in the north side, our hunt will be between 11th and 13th Ave North for today's treasures.

There are two cases that contain at least $27 each with a coin. This hunt will require a detector just like the others. Make sure you fill any holes you dig on the beach and many thanks for picking up any trash you find along the way as well. If you need a hint or find the case, text me at 904-201-9047 so I can update that the cases have been found.

Hoppy Easter!

Let’s hop over this hunt to 19th North here in Jax Beach for this hunt. Then hunt south until you hit the new construction.

FOUND 05.27.2023 Location 4

And for our last location..

Between 18th and 19th St Atlantic Beach there was an underground house built in 1975 by architect William Morgan. Morgan said he built the two story two bedroom apartment home like a seashell. I’ve always loved to come over to this area to drive by the home. Such a unique place that has kept most of the design the architect first created.

So pick your parking lot for this one on either street. The hunt will take place between the two.

Below are the “treasures” for this location. There are two cases at this location that contain at least $27 each with a coin. This hunt will require a detector just like the others. Make sure you fill any holes you dig on the beach and many thanks for picking up any trash you find along the way as well. If you need a hint or find the case, text me at 904-201-9047.

Good luck and happy hunting!

FOUND 05.27.2023 Location 3

Now to let you in on the 3rd location…

My favorite spot along A1A as I’ve mentioned several times in clues of the past was always at a gas station. Such a beautiful view as you look across the street into the vast Atlantic Ocean. Most locals already know what I’m referring to, but if you need a clue: 2700 S Ponte Vedra Blvd..

Welcome to the 4th anniversary celebration of Hunt the 27th!

As you can read back in previous clues, I started this hunt 4 years ago Memorial day weekend just out of the love of the hunt White’s detectors did at easter and love of metal detecting.

And I’ve not regretted it one bit..

I’ve met so many wonderful detectorists over the years, had many donations given to me, and had many photos with smiles texted to me with a case in hand. It always makes it worth the while to see those photos.

So for today, there’s 4 locations with two cases at each location. I’ll combine these first two clues, because it will be up to you whether you want to go north or south to be at the 16th in Jax Beach. There’s treasures at both ends and hopefully you’ll be able to score something sweet!
