“Under the boardwalk….” always sings in my head when I’m visiting Jacksonville Beach Pier. I love detecting around this area, there’s always something to find.
Once called Ruby, then Pablo Beach, and as of 1925 Jacksonville Beach, this town has a long history of change. There once was a wooden boardwalk here, an amusement park, and cars would line up on the sand to compete in auto racing.
Construction continues in this area with a new ramp being built to allow wheelchair access. I look forward to the day when the pier is rebuilt from the hurricane damage from years past. But for now, visitors from across the globe come to our tiny part of the world to visit this area, some to see the Atlantic Ocean for the first time.
This hunt just as the others will require a detector and will be located in the sand. Make sure you fill any holes you dig and bonus points for picking up any trash you find along the way as well. Take a photo of where you find the container and text it to the number inside.
Good luck and happy hunting!
